Posted by Accelerate Fund | January 22, 2019

CALGARY, AB – January 22, 2019 – Accelerate Fund II announced Arden Tse as its new Investment Manager for Alberta Enterprise’s second early stage angel co-investment fund being co-managed by Yaletown Partners with The A100. Based in Edmonton, Arden will take over for Nate Glubish who is departing to pursue politics full-time.

“We are excited to welcome Arden to our investment team,” said Brad Johns, Partner, Yaletown Partners. “He brings a combination of investment, portfolio management and mentorship expertise that will be an asset not only in evaluating early stage companies for Accelerate Fund II but in supporting teams as they scale. Arden will be a great addition, and carry on the investment momentum that Nate helped to achieve with promising Alberta startups.”

Arden is an accomplished business professional with over 15 years of private and public sector experience. As an investment analyst with AIMCo, Arden took part in active oversight of environmental, social, and governance issues that impact AIMCo’s $70B portfolio of assets. Prior to that, Arden was in commercial leasing and sales with Barclay Street and Torode Realty. And most recently, Arden has focused on entrepreneurship development as Manager of the University of Alberta’s Venture Mentoring Service.

“My career to date has been about discovering and managing value in various sectors. In the last few years, I’ve worked with Alberta’s startups and seen firsthand the combined importance of having both a smart business focus and high-performing people to build success,” said Arden Tse, Investment Manager, Accelerate Fund II. “I am thrilled to join Yaletown and the Accelerate Fund II team to help discover high-value early-stage technology investments across Alberta, and help startup leaders to grow.”

Departing the team is Nate Glubish, who managed investments for Accelerate Fund II since April 2017. Nate is the United Conservative Party (UCP) candidate for Strathcona-Sherwood Park and is moving on to focus full-time on his campaign for the upcoming Alberta provincial election.

“Over the last 15 years I have had the opportunity to invest in and work with many great Alberta-based technology companies,” said Nate Glubish, the outgoing Accelerate Fund II Investment Manager. “Going forward, I hope to use my experience as a technology investor to help make Alberta one of the most competitive jurisdictions in Canada to build and invest in technology companies.”
